SESSION MUSICIAN TRAINING ACADEMY

The Session Musician Training Academy (SMTA) provides a unique opportunity for aspiring musicians to develop and refine their musical skills through an intensive 10-week course run on Saturdays.
It is designed to allow students to gain the skills to apply and audition for the Royal Northern College of Music Popular Music Practice (Session Musician) Foundation Degree which requires Grade 8 or equivalent standard musicianship. In effect it performs the same function for rock and pop musicians as the Junior RNCM.
The SMTA operates from Blueprint Studios on Queen Street in Manchester. This is an outstanding rehearsal and studio complex with excellent facilities.

SESSION MUSICIAN COURSE
Suitable for musicians aged 16 and above, the 10-week Session Musician Course runs on Saturdays.
It provides an intensive musical experience aimed specifically at developing your instrumental skills to Grade 8 equivalence within a session musician context.
Input includes small-group instrumental skills tuition (in either guitar, bass, drums, vocals or keyboards) plus group rehearsal and performance and general musicianship. Sessions are delivered by music industry professionals.
This is a fee-paying course. Price £562 inc VAT.
The next course is due to run in the Spring.
