Access to Music has had a successful partnership with Trafford College for many years.

Courses run from a brand new state-of-the-art £1.5 million music centre just five minutes walk from the city’s Piccadilly Gardens.

The accommodation includes six rehearsal rooms, a large performance and rehearsal space, two recording studios, four music technology studios/workrooms, four lecture rooms, a common room and IT drop-in facilities.

 

 

Peter Hook of Joy Division/New Order and Mani from the Stone Roses/Primal Scream are Ambassadors for the Manchester centre. Both musicians have been actively promoting the centre on their radio show on 96.2 Revolution.

 

Karima Tipped For the Top
Ex-student, Karima Francis, has been hailed by the Observer Music Monthly as the Best New Act of 2009 and as the 'next big thing' by the Daily Mail. Compared to Dylan and Tracey Chapman, her singer/songwriter style can be heard to great effect on her new album, The Author, while she is about to go on tour supporting James Morrison. More info >>

Peter Hook supports Manchester ATM students
ATM students at Trafford College showcased their talents in 2008 for the first ever Manchester Music Base Live show. Special guest and music legend Peter Hook of Joy Division/ New Order fame was on hand offering praise to the wide range of college bands and vocal artists who took to the stage.

Singer-songwriter Damon Valentine supported Badly Drawn Boy and Elbow at a John Lennon Charity Event held at the Royal Northern College of Music.

Andy Ross
Songwriter Andy Ross has clocked up an impressive CV, including a performance at Buckingham Palace for Prince Charles’ 50th birthday celebrations, a tour supporting Ian Brown and more recently signing an international publishing deal with Clippers Music. At 14, he was the youngest songwriter ever to be admitted as a member of the PRS. Since then he has gone on to gig extensively with his band Al!ve, including a unique partnership with Yamaha which saw them tour to schools around the country.
