  • Maximise your potential as a vocal performer.
  • Have the opportunity to form and join bands where you will develop your musical skills by playing with others in regular rehearsals.
  • Improve your vocal and musicianship skills.
  • Learn how to write and refine songs for recording and gigs.
  • Understand how to make your music unique, interesting and relevant.
  • Record songs in studios and perform them live in professional venues. Access to Music works with Atom Live, a professional event production company who stage gigs, tours and festivals throughout the UK.
  • Gain essential skills in developing your fanbase and promoting your music using social networking and other channels.
  • Understand the changing nature and structure of the UK music industry.
  • Gain an understanding of the business of music including contracts and self-employment requirements.
  • Gain a recognised and industry-relevant qualification. Courses lead to Rockschool/ATM Diplomas at Levels 1 and 2 (GCSE equivalent) and Level 3 (A Level equivalent). Level 1 and 2 Diplomas generate 48 ten-hour credits. The two-year Level 3 Diploma generates 96 ten-hour credits. Qualifications are unit-based and assessment is focused on practical music-making activities.
  • Gain access to Higher Education popular music courses (Level 3 only).

Other unique benefits:

  • Unlike many other specialist music courses, our FE provision offers free tuition for 16-19 year olds and for those on benefits and those undertaking a first Level 2 or Level 3 qualification. Courses are heavily subsidised for others. Check out FEES for more info.
  • Again unlike other music courses, such as BTECs, our courses require no formal academic qualifications to gain entry. We are interested in your musical potential and we are committed to offering true access to music!
