JAMES MORRISON
Crowned as British Male Solo Artist at the 2007 Brit Awards: could things get any better for the ex-ATM client?
In the past year James has enjoyed three sell out UK tours and his debut album Undiscovered leapt straight to the top of the UK charts.
Third single The Pieces Don’t Fit Anymore is riding high in the charts and rock legend Rod Stewart has cited him as his favourite new artist.

AMI RICHARDSON
2007 saw ex-BANM student Ami Richardson tour with dance act Basement Jaxx. Gigs included V festival. Ami, whose previous work includes backing vocals for Delta Goodram, Atomic Kitten and Donny Osmond, was introduced to the Jaxx by her tutor at BANM. |

LIAM FROST
Liam Frost and his band The Slowdown Family have had a busy year. Months working in a cold London studio with Coldplay producer Danton Supple spawned two singles before the release of debut album Show Me How The Spectres Dance on Lavolta Records (Sony BMG).
On the live front they completed their first headline tour of the UK to rave reviews and sold out venues, before appearing at various festivals culminating in an appearance at the prestigous Eden Sessions in Cornwall with Snow Patrol.
Having already shared the stage with the likes of Badly Drawn Boy and Kinks legend Ray Davies, the ex-Manchester student’s career is going from strength to strength.

GET CAPE, WEAR CAPE, FLY
Cornet player and ex ATM student Mikey Glenister joined Get Cape, Wear Cape, Fly shortly after the band signed to Atlantic Records. He has since toured the UK to sell out crowds and debut album Chronicles of a Bohemian Teenager, charted at a respectable number 26, selling 18,000 copies in the first fortnight.

ROAD STAR
Guitarist and ex ATM Redbridge student Jonny Rocker is one fifth of Roadstar
Roadstar have toured alongside a number of high profile acts, such as Alice Cooper, Deep Purple, Status Quo, Meat Loaf, Nickleback and The Darkness. They have also taken part in rock events such as Download Festival and Monsters of Rock.
Their debut album Grand Hotel was produced by Kevin Shirley (Led Zepplin and Aerosmith).
Roadstar won the Best Newcomers award at the 2006 Classic Rock Magazine Awards which led to Jonny featuring in adverts for Yamaha guitars.

PADDINGTONS
Hull based garage-rock band The Paddington’s promoted the release of their debut album First Comes First with a tour of the UK entitled Highway to Hull.
The guys have performed at all the major festivals, and were invited by fashion-house Dior to perform at a hig- profile Paris show in front of an audience including the Pet Shop Boys, Mick Jagger and Jake Shears (Scissor Sisters). Baby Shambles wild-man Pete Doherty joined them on stage for an impromptu performance.
Guitarist Josh and drummer Grant studied on the ATM Performing Musician course in Hull.

MIKEY SHINE: HAPPY MONDAYS
Former ATM Leicester student Mikey Shine is the Happy Mondays bassist.
Since their revival, the band have played a variety of festival dates, including Glastonbury, and have appeared on Top of the Pops and CD:UK.
In 2006 the band completed their first album in 14 years and a their single Playground Superstar was used on the soundtrack for the football film Goal!.

LMC Vs U2
Rachel Mcfarlane’s single with LMC,Take Me To The Clouds Above, hit the number one spot in the UK’s singles charts and gained her a Brit nomination for Best Single 2004.
The ex-Manchester student is signed up as a recording artist to All Around The World Records and has worked as a background vocalist with a variety of artists including the Spice Girls, Lee Ryan (Blue) Adeva, Westlife, Samantha Mumba, Michelle McManus, Marti Pellow, Jocelyn Brown, Mica Paris, Rozalla, Omar, Kym Mazelle, Carlene Anderson, Amy Winehouse, Shaun Escoffery and Cast.

THREE OF A KIND
Urban act 3 Of A Kind’s debut single hit the no. 1 spot in the UK charts in August 2004 becoming the song of the summer.

MIDDLEMAN
Hip-hop band Middleman beat off competition from thousands to take 2nd place in the nominations for ‘Best Unsigned Band’ at the recent Channel 4 Digital Music Awards.
Ex-ATM Birmingham student Krishna Thirchelvam is Middleman's guitarist.

LIANHART
Former BANM student Lianhart is performing in the West end smash musical Daddy Cool. He is the first professional beatboxer to bring this abstract art form to the West-end.
Lianhart's career has gone from strength to strength since he beat off fierce competition from beatboxers around the world to represent England providing the sound for a Motorola advert.He has also supported acts including John Legend, Eska, GZA of Wu Tang Clan and DJ Jazzy Jeff.

DUKE SPECIAL
Duke Special is signed to V2 and has toured Ireland and Europe supporting the Beautiful South, Divine Comedy and Snow Patrol.
Ex Atm student Chip Bailey is a key part of the live show and joined Duke for his European tour, as their drummer. He plays a customised kit and anything else he can lay his hands on, including his own signature cheese grater and whisk instrument.
Chip is also featured on the Duke Special album Songs from the Deep Forest.

CHERRY DE LACY
Cherry de Lacy worked as a Record Contract Advisor for Sanctuary Records before landing herself the dream job of events manager at Knebworth.
Knebworth hails itself as the greatest rock venue in the world and over the past twenty years has played host to the cream of the music industry. The Rolling Stones, Queen, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Oasis and Robbie Williams are just a few of over 100 major artists who have played Knebworth festivals since they began in 1974. |

SOWETO KINCH
Soweto’s acclaimed debut album Conversations With The Unseen was released on DuneRecords in April 2003 and launched Soweto’s career as a solo artist. The album won a Mercury Music Prize for An Album Of The Year 2003 and earned him the MOBO Award for Best Jazz Act 2003.
The former ATM client was also nominated for the Mercury Music Prize Album of the Year in the same year and went on to win two BBC Radio Jazz Awards for Best Band and Best Instrumentalist in 2004.
In 2006 Kinch released his second album A Life In The Day Of B19 – Tales Of The Tower Block. The second part of the album is due for release this year.

Former ADP student Cliff Simms worked for EMI before landing the role of Production Music Manager at Bucks Music Group, one of the UK's largest independent music publishers and the UK's largest independent media music publisher.
Bucks have worked with Beverly Knight, Mike Skinner, Friday Hill, The Honeyz, Studio B to name a few. |

MARK DENBY
Mark studied on the Performing Musician course at ATM, Manchester, before studying for a Music Industry Management degree at Buckinghamshire University.
Mark went on to work as an Internet Anti Piracy Specialist for the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) before finally landing a job at Universal Music Group in digital music marketing.

DJ JOSH ROBERTS
Whilst studying at ATM Norwich DJ Josh Roberts won the Radio 1 and UKCC national young DJ search 2004 making him officially the UK’s number 1 young DJ! The title earned him support from such big names as the Dreem Team and Tim Westwood.
Josh has played a variety of different towns and cities around the UK. His biggest event being Radio 1’s One Big Weekend in Birmingham where he warmed up for the likes of Judge Jules, Dave Pearce and Fatboy Slim.
Josh recently bagged himself a three-month season with Ministry of Sound in Egypt. |

PAUL COLE
Since drumming for the chart-topping dance act Groove Armada, Paul has appeared on MTV and played at festivals and clubs across Europe. His side project Free Control recently composed the music to an independent film Night-bird.
The former ATM Leicester student’s drumming skills can also be heard on the Bent album Ariel.

MOLLY SMITTEN-DOWNES
Ex ATM Leicester’s Molly Smitten-Downs has taken the US by storm, fronting Raindrops by dance outfit Stunt.
The track, which features on the Clubbers Guide compilation from Ministry of Sound, reached number 3 in the US dance charts and 43 in the UK singles charts. |

DIZZEE RASCAL
Mercury Prize winner Dizzee Rascal was the first rapper and at 19 the youngest person to receive the prestigious award.
The former ATM Redbridge student also won the NME award for Innovation and has achieved massive charts success with six top 30 hits from two albums.
Dizzee was also part of Band Aid 20, a group of British musicians who re-recorded Do They Know It's Christmas? and was the first person to add to the song since the original was released.
His latest track Wanna be a G, features star of the moment Lily Allen. |

JAMIE MORRISON: THE NOISETTES
Ex-British Academy student Jamie Morrison is one third of indie band Noisettes. The band have toured with Baby Shambles, Bloc Party and the Mystery Jets and supported Muse at the end of last year. They performed at this year's Reading and Leeds festivals on the NME/Radio 1 stage.

RIC BIRTILL
The start of 2008 saw ex Blackburn student Ric Birtill fly to Nashville to record with top bass player Chris Donaghue (Elvis Costello, Emi Lou Harris). Donaghue is backing the singer songwriter and plans to record a 6 track EP of his songs.
