Buskers Corner

FROM THE STREETS TO THE STAGE:
UK'S FIRST NATIONAL BUSKERS COMPETITION

Now is your chance to take your music from the streets to the stage of the London International Music Show (LIMS). Entrants are being sought for what organizers, MB Media and Access to Music, are hailing as the UK's first National Buskers Competition.

Instead of a cold subway or street corner, six selected buskers will get a slot on a special stage at the LIMS Education Festival on Friday 13 June. There they will be judged by Radio 1 champion of new music, Colin Murray, who will announce the winner on the day and present them with a great prize.

Martin Smith of Access to Music said 'We have run a Busker's Corner at a number of major events and it has always been an exciting and vibrant showcase of new talent. We are now moving this idea onto the next stage with a unique national competition to find the best busker in the country'.

ENTER NOW

Budding buskers can enter by simply emailing events@accesstomusic.co.uk with a link to your Myspace page, or by attaching an MP3 of one of your songs (please also supply a contact phone number). The competition is open to anyone of any age and the only condition is that your material must be original, not covers.

Access to Music judges will select the six finalists who will battle it out on stage at London's Excel venue in East London. The winner will receive a fabulous prize of a Wharfedale Pro PA system or a Yamaha acoustic guitar.

The closing date for entries is Friday 30 May 2008.
