FROM THE STREETS TO THE STAGE:
UK'S FIRST NATIONAL BUSKERS COMPETITION
Instead of a cold subway or street corner, five finalists were selected for a slot on a special stage at the LIMS Education Festival on Friday 13 June. They were judged by Access to Music and Radio 1 champion of new music, Colin Murray, who announced the winner on the day and presented them with a great prize.
Martin Smith of Access to Music said 'We have run a Busker's Corner at a number of major events and it has always been an exciting and vibrant showcase of new talent. We are now moving this idea onto the next stage with a unique national competition to find the best busker in the country'.
