The ATOM Live Festival was a showcase of student talent from across Access to Music’s national network of music centres and partner colleges. Over 50 acts appeared across three stages together with some special guest performances from professional bands.
The event also featured a series of masterclasses, workshops and talks, including a not-to-be-missed Audience with Goldie. Also on the bill were Yolanda Charles (bassist with Robbie Williams, Paul Weller, Mick Jagger etc.), industry players Marc Marot (former MD of Island Records who signed Massive Attack, PJ Harvey, The Orb, Pulp, Nine Inch Nails etc.) + John Arnison (manager for Gabrielle, Cat Stevens, Marillion), and Brooks Williams from America who delivered a songwriting masterclass.
The event was hosted in the spaces and venues of The Custard Factory, set in the Creative Quarter of Birmingham, a hub for art and entertainment. Threaded by green spaces, fountains and sculptures and complemented by all manner of shops, cafés, bars and boutiques, it was an exciting and vibrant place for the ATOM Live Festival.
