Custard Factory
Birmingham
The ATOM Live Festival 2009 took the Custard Factory by storm with a staggering multi-staged extravaganza covering all music styles from dubstep to death metal.
Seasonal festival rain failed to put a damper on proceedings which ran right through from 12pm to 11pm featuring exciting musical talent from past and present Access to Music students, from all over the UK.

EVENING
From 7pm, we presented a night of free music on our fantastic outdoor Pool Stage featuring:
EnR TWINZ: Presents Birmz is Grime
The EnR Twinz need no introduction
to fans of urban and grime music in the West Midlands, being one of the biggest acts on the scene. They include ex-ATM students from ATM Studios, Birmingham. More info >>

ESSER
Following a tour with the Kaiser Chiefs, Esser is currently promoting his hot new album, Braveface, out now on Trangressive Records (also home of The Noisettes). His quirky alt-indie sound has been receiving rave reviews in the UK media. Esser is a former ATM Southend and Artist Development student.
DUB CROOKZ
Dub Crookz is a collaboration of drum n bass producers Koga Ninja and Pinz/Zest. Birmingham based and studying at Access to Music, the pair have now taken to dubstep and hit the scene by storm with kudos from many well known dubstep producers. More info >>

DAYTIME
The day was jam packed with an array of music across mulitple stages. Activities started at Midday.

POOL STAGE
Outside, but under an enormous marquee, a perfect festival feeling was created which was filled all day with live, new music followed by special guests.

FACTORY CLUB
This smaller indoor stage hosted a great range of acts in a factory warehouse setting.


BEAT FACTORY
Inside the factory club there was a great party atomosphere as people danced to the beats of hottest new student producers and DJs from across the country. Features included a Beat Making Competition and a DJ Jump Off. The Factory closed with a club night from 7pm.

ATOM THEATRE
The theatre was the place to be if you wanted to catch industry-focused seminars on hot topical issues:
‘Audience with..’ sessions, including Seven Webster-
'The Importance of strong songs and great production and presentation.'
Social Media; a topical debate with Syllabus Music, AWAL, Ditto Music, Cue Tracks, PRS for Music, Island Records, Universal and EMI.
Student Summit; have your say! Led by the student rep network this was a chance to air views.
Human Beatbox Masterclass Multi-instrumentalist Vid Warren has collaborated with Shlomo and Bellatrix and performed at major festivals including WOMAD and The Big Chill. Incorporating jazz and hip-hop styles, Vid delivered a top masterclass on new techniques of vocal-percussion. Individual sounds, breaking conventions and simultaneous instrumental beatboxing! Vid is a current student on ATM's Artist Development 3 course in London.

GRAFFITTI ART
Live art was created courtesy of Poshone.
BUSKER'S CORNER
The popular acoustic busker's platform was set up in the Kitchen Cafe and featured no less than 22 slots performances.
ATOM WORKSHOPS
Throughout the day music workshops were run by Blue Whale including Music Production (Logic Pro), Studio Techniques, DJ Skills, MC/Lyrical Workshops.
PLUS++
Advanced Communication Services were on site to provide hearing protection information and hearing tests by appointment.
ATOM Custard Shop by Adam Hall. One of the UK's leading suppliers Adam Hall was on site for equipent needs and top deals.
