AcCESS TO MUSIC AT MUSIC LIVE 2009

Access to Music was back with a bang at Music Live 2009, held in November at the Birmingham NEC Arena.

Once again we hosted our fantastic Get Experienced festival experience, complete with marquee, 'grass' and bales of hay! We even had our own mobile recording studio on site in the form of Rockhopper's shiny airstream studio caravan, plus the ACS van offering free hearing tests. We were one of the biggest attractions at the show!

Friday was Education Day and the NEC was packed with fanatical music students- great stuff! We chatted to lots of them and they very much enjoyed the Access to Music freebies, especially the plectrums; we’ve totally run out!

We were lucky enough to meet quite a few of our own students as well so thanks to all of you who popped by the tent to say hello. We hope you all had a good day on the Friday.

Our marquee was never empty and we enjoyed acts from upcoming Island artist Erik Hassle, a Vintage Guitars demonstration from Gavin Coulson, some sci-fi sunshine pop from Spaceships are Cool, Access to Music’s latest talent Scuffed up Shoes and closing the day Everyone An Army from Scarborough.

On Saturday the day began with a bit of indie punk from Leicester-based band Razmatazz. Also performing was singer-songwriter Donna Marie an ex-student from Manchester and an Access to Music act from Birmingham- Joyous. Top guitarist Geoff Whitehorn also drew in the crowds with a showcase for us.

Sunday was tribute day and all the big names turned out to support Access to Music! We were visited by Blondie, Cher, Rod Stewart and Luther Vandross- what a line up!

As well as all the music we also hosted chat show features from top of the game music managers, tour production, event crew and stage tech experts and caught up with Grand Theft Audio after they’d performed on the main stage.

Thanks to all those who came down, roll on Music Live 2010!
