SATURDAYS STAR

Pop fans out there will know that The Saturdays are the latest sensation to hit the air-waves, and the five members (featuring two S Club Juniors) look set to rival Girls Aloud! with their infectious electro hooks.

Debut album Chasing Lights was released in October 2008 to positive reviews from critics. Selling over 22,000 in the first week of sales, the album peaked at no.11 in the UK album charts, and spawned singles If This Is Love and Up which hit no.8 and no.5 in the UK charts respectively.

A serious media campaign has placed the girls everywhere from Radio 1 and Never Mind the Buzzcocks to the Fashion Show on ITV2. They performed across the UK in major venues supporting Girls Aloud!and even performed alongside Sir Cliff Richard. In November 2008 the group appeared as guest stars on the late night version of Channel 4's teen soap Hollyoaks.

Band member Vanessa White studied on Access to Music’s Vocal Artist course in London before auditioning to join the group.

There latest release Forever is Over reached a fantastic number 2 in the UK charts.

Other ex-ATM students to hit the number one spot include Dizzee Rascal who in 2008 joined forces with indie-electro producer Calvin Harris and Chrome to enjoy 4 weeks at number one with grime/cross-over hit Dance Wiv Me. Meanwhile Rachel McFarlane combined the Whitney Houston classic How Will I Know with U2’s With Or Without You to create 2004 dance hit Take Me to the Clouds Above.
