James Charters, better known to across the UK as Ironik, was a student with Access to Music in 2005 when he studied on the Creative Music Producer course in London.

The track Tiny Dancer (Hold me Closer) features a collaboration between rising star Chipmunk, who the likes of Dizzee Rascal, amongst others, has named the next grime MC to break through, and music legend Elton John. The track spent 10 weeks in the UK singles chart getting to number 3.

His previous track Stay with Me charted at number 5 and threw him into the spotlight. He was snapped up by Atlantic Records after using social networking sites such as Myspace and YouTube to attract millions of fans.

He was recently nominated for Best UK Act at the Mobo awards alongside artists such as Alesha Dixon, Dizzee Rascal and N-Dubz. As well as being nominated, Ironik also performed at the awards with fellow artist and friend, Chipmunk.

This year has been a fantastic one for the rising star with performances at Glastonbury, T4 on the beach and O2 Wireless festival, to name just a few.
