17 year old Birmingham student, Damon-Lee Smallridge with the stage name ‘Whizzy’ has inked a 12-month contract with Merseyside based Impress Artist Management and aspires to significantly raise his profile.
The talented Coventry rapper aspires to be touring the country and delivering his lyrics to thousands. ‘I feel like I’ve been given opportunity to not only follow my dream but to make my mum proud’.
Founder of the Management Company, Callum Hesketh added “Hearing a 16-year-old boy rapping about suicide is disturbing stuff, especially when you learn that the source of his anguish is from being bullied for his autism diagnosis. I wanted to give Whizzy the break he deserves. My ambition to develop artists and get them further in the industry has spearheaded my interest to ensure Whizzy can peruse a career in music. One song which particularly moved me was, Whizzy Alone 2015. This is a harrowing tale of a young boy, his thoughts of escape, and his love for his mum, who through it all keeps him going and keeps his dreams alive”.
Whizzy will be releasing his Debut Album Wrapped Up on Christmas day. It will be available to pre-order on 18th December via iTunes.
