Ed Sheeran enjoyed an amazing night at the Brit Awards 2012, held at the O2 Arena in London. Nominated for 4 Brits, he walked away with two and delivered one of the most memorable performances of the night.
Ed picked up the awards for British Male Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Artist, but lost out to Adele and One Direction in the British Album and British Single categories. The awards crowned a fantastic 12 months for Ed that have seen him hit the charts, release a critically-acclaimed debut album, play festivals and arenas, and become widely regarded as one the leading talents in British music (as well as a household name).
His rendition of hit single 'Lego House' typified Ed's heartfelt acoustic style, delivering an unmatched level of intimacy and connecting with the audience in a way few other performers can. To see Ed's performance click here.
Ed Sheeran is a former Access to Music student, having studied on the Artist Development programme in London. We'd all like to congratulate Ed on his well deserved Brits success and wish him every success for the future.
Recently Ed co-wrote a new song with Access To Music tutor Jon Hockley and rising UK hip hop star, Kasha Rae, which looks set to be a big success. The video for 'Suits' can be seen here and also features two other Access To Music students - Derek Daley and Ezra Bruno.
