RESIDENTIAL SUPPORT SCHEME

You may be able to apply to the Residential Support Scheme if you are relocating specifically for the purpose of attending your course.

The Residential Support Scheme targets learners who need help to pay for accommodation because they are on a course that is not available in their normal residential area or within reasonable travelling distance.

WHO CAN APPLY?

You can apply if you are:

  • aged 16 or over;
  • you course is not available locally or within reasonable travelling distance;
  • studying or about to study a full-time course at Level 2 and Level 3;
  • ordinarily resident in England.

WHAT WILL I GET?

This will depend on your income or, if you are dependent on parents or a partner, how much spare income they have. The most you could get is £3,377 each year (£3,983 if you will be living in London) depending on how much your rent is.

Please note: this award is a contribution towards your rent and may not cover the full amount.
